Articles about “Entertaiment”
Something affording pleasure, diversion, or amusement: Solving the crossword puzzle is entertainment for many people.
Children’s entertainment often mimics adult activities, such as watching performances (on television); prepares them for social interaction and responsibility (through play with dolls, pets and group games); and develops motor skills needed for sports, music and group activities. The stories of Scheherazade are a great example of an entertaining tale that has inspired retellings in different mediums – composers Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and Szymanowski turned it into an orchestral work; director Pasolini made a film adaptation; and it has even been used as the basis for a creative video game.
Many forms of entertainment may appear to have extreme purposes but they can also be methods of achieving perception and highbrow growth, as in the case of a rite, party, non secular pageant or satire.
